About the workshop (6-10 year olds)

The purpose of this workshop is to help children understand and manage their emotions so they can develop strategies that will help them build social and emotional skills. Cognitive skills, such as attention, memory, executive function, decision-making, critical thinking, problem-solving and regulation, are inherently linked to emotions.

In today's fast-paced world, emotional intelligence is a crucial life skill.

Children who learn to manage their emotions are more likely to succeed academically, socially, and emotionally. That's why we're thrilled to announce our upcoming workshop on managing emotions for children. This interactive workshop will equip children with the tools they need to identify and express their emotions in healthy ways. Through fun and engaging activities, children will learn to recognise their feelings, communicate effectively, and develop coping strategies for challenging situations. Join us for an awesome workshop that will help your child build a solid foundation for lifelong emotional wellness!

In Islam, managing emotions is a crucial aspect of self-control and discipline. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) emphasised the importance of managing one's emotions, and Islamic teachings encourage individuals to control their anger, envy, and other negative emotions. It is therefore essential to teach children how to manage their emotions in Islam so that they can cultivate self-awareness and self-regulation, which are vital components of a healthy Islamic lifestyle. By learning to manage their emotions, children can develop a greater sense of empathy, compassion, and patience, all of which are virtues emphasised in Islam. As part of this workshop, children will learn practical skills to manage their emotions and connect these skills to their Islamic identity and spirituality.

A safe space will be provided for all children to be themselves and ask as many questions as they wish to gain more beneficial knowledge and expand their understanding of emotional regulation and its relevance to Islam. It will consist of introducing ourselves through ice breakers, short lectures providing information through visuals and storytelling, lots of discussions to clear any confusion and solidify understanding, toilet breaks, lunch, fun games, and activities to build relationships, develop friendships and grasp better communication skills.
