About the workshop (6-10 year olds)
Ramadan is a fundamental aspect of our religion. Educating our children about this sacred month, its history, its significance, and how it fits into a Muslim's overall life is extremely important. By presenting Ramadan in an engaging, fun and interactive manner, this workshop helps children understand the significance and meaning of it.
Abu Hurayrah (ra) reported that the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said, “When Ramadan enters, the gates of Paradise are opened, the gates of Hellfire are closed and the devils are chained,” (Al-Bukhari and Muslim).
In light of Ramadan approaching, this hadeeth highlights its beauty and promotes a positive outlook on life in children, improving their character.
During the workshop we will discuss:

The five pillars of Islam (what they are and how to implement them)

The importance of du'a and adhkar especially in Ramadan (the adab of making du'a and specific ones to say).

In addition to Ramadan's importance and history, the manners of a little Muslim and how to attain and maintain those manners not only during Ramadan but also afterwards

Arts and craft activities centered around the Month of Ramadan

Lots of fun games and activities to develop friendships.

A safe space will be provided for all children to be themselves and ask as many questions as they wish, to gain more beneficial knowledge and expand their understanding of Ramadan and its significance. It will consist of introducing ourselves through ice breakers, short lectures providing information through visuals and storytelling, lots of discussions to clear any confusion and solidify understanding, toilet breaks, lunch, fun games, and activities to build relationships, develop friendships and grasp better communication skills.
